Marina Manoukian studied at Sarah Lawrence College, focusing her time on literature, philosophy, writing poetry, and the threads that tie them all together. After spending a semester researching and writing about the phenomenology of reading, she began to incorporate the notion of the reader’s participation in her poetry. Her writing not only insists upon the reader’s participation, but also insists upon the reader’s awareness of the fact.
After spending two years working at a bookstore in New York City, she decided that it was time to return back to academia for a little bit. She currently resides in Berlin and is working towards a Master in Arts in English Philology at Freie Universität Berlin. She continues to read and write.
